Teaching Philosophy
At A-Squared Math Tutoring, we believe in instilling confidence in our students rather than being “homework help.” Struggling in mathematics has a way of destroying confidence in students that inevitably bleeds out into other subjects. We achieve this through conceptual teaching — solidifying the concept into the student, then having them apply it on their own to show that they’re capable without our assistance. Our goal is to work ourselves out of a job; to make students self-sufficient from that point forward. This is what makes us “More Than Just Tutors.”
Having been in the tutoring game for many years, we encountered just about every other tutoring company in the cities of Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, Scottsdale, and Chandler. After even working for a few, we were really disappointed with not only the insufficient hiring process (lack of knowledge checks, tutoring qualifications, etc.), but also the enormous hourly billing rate being pushed out. Independently, Alex (the owner) was able to outperform the competition while keeping the rates reasonable so that they weren’t limited in the time needed for their classes.
